I (Dorothy Mikiko) aim to establish ① and to run ② in 2027

① “Hachidori Geijutsu Sha”
Music and art company where people with and without disabilities will work as professional musicians, artists and so on.

②”Hachidori Geijutsu Buses”
The buses which will have been cutely designed by ①”Hachidori Geijutsu Sha” will run every 10 minutes in Omuta city. Many senior citizens and tourists will use them.

Why did I come up with the idea?

• The area around Omuta station and the shopping arcade were deserted when I came to Omuta city for the first time, still they are.
• I thought of employment problems for challenged people when I first got a job at a welfare facility for the challenged.
• I studied history of the coal mine in this city when I changed jobs to an office that we help coalminers and other workers with applications for workers’ accident compensation. Now the coal mine has already been closed.
  I hope to revitalize Omuta that flourished as coal town in the past.
• I have been playing concert tour all over Japan since 2010 to cheer people (in Omuta and other areas) up, but it is still not enough.
• I have often heard that senior citizens said “I wish more buses would run in Omuta city.” for 10 years at a group of listening volunteer in Omuta.
• I have composed many pieces under the theme of Omuta, World Heritage, and so on ,and I have being playing them on the violin since I established Dorothy Mikiko Music Office in 2010.
  I have been hoping to work with artistically talented people with and without disabilities for a long time.

That’s why that I planned Aoi Hachidori Project in 2018, and began to do it in 2019.

Where does the name
“AHP(Aoi Hachidori Project)”
come from???

Miike Port (was a coal port in the past) is part of World Heritage sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution which was registrated in 2015, and looks like a hummingbird spreading its wings seen from the sky.

This hummingbird(Hachidori) of the blue(Aoi) sea is flying to the future, I think.

A portion of the sales of each AHP event has been saved for 2 aims mentioned at the beginning.

1st

Collaboration event of Art of Soba making (by Mr.Higuchi Shin-ichi) and my violin concert in 2019.

It is completed successfully.

2nd

Crowdfunding in 2021
I created the website(Japanese text only) of the crowdfunding from scratch (not ready-made).
thank-you gifts: own products (CD’s, and calendars containing tunes and pictures and photographs by myself), and so on.

Thank you to everyone who had supported me and I was able to achieve the target amount.

It has already been finished in 2021, but the CD’s are still for sale now.
